Dig it in autumn, remove the reed heads, fibrous roots and sediment, use it fresh or slowly roast the rehmannia glutinosa until it is about 80% dry. The former is commonly known as fresh rehmannia glutinosa, and the latter is commonly known as raw rehmannia glutinosa.
【Character】Fresh Rehmannia glutinosa is spindle-shaped or strip-shaped, ~ long and ~ in diameter. The outer skin is thin, with a light reddish-yellow surface, with curved longitudinal wrinkles, bud scars, transverse lenticel-like protrusions and irregular scars. Fleshy, easy to break, the cuticle is light yellowish-white, with orange-red oil spots visible, the xylem is yellowish-white, and the vessels are arranged radially.
